Bro Jewel Vance was born in Grant county Arkansas to James and Alma (Croy) Vance. He was born again at the age of 14 and surrendered to preach at age 16. Upon graduation from high school he entered the Missionary Baptist Seminary. He started pastoring in November1967. On February 11,1968, he was ordained to the gospel ministry by Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, Little Rock, Ar.
On November 22, 1968, Bro Vance married his high school sweetheart Emma Jean (Dixon). They have four children, Anita,Tony, Margaret, and James Patrick. They are blessed to have 11 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. He and Emma “Jean” are also blessed to have many children and grandchildren of the heart.
Bro. Vance has pastored churches in Arkansas, Mississippi, Kansas, Missouri and California. While in California He obtained his Bachelors of Christian Education from the Redlands Missionary Baptist Institute and was privileged to teach and serve as Dean of the Redlands Missionary Baptist Institute.
Bro Vance has been pastor of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church Berryville since August 2011.
He currently serves as a volunteer chaplain for the Mercy Hospital Berryville as well as a volunteer for the Mercy Hospital Berryville Auxiliary. He will serve as the assistant camp director for the Mo-Ark Youth camp in 2019.
